Search Crosy's 489-color DMC catalog by number or name, then copy the thread identity.

Find a thread

Quick search

Screen colors are estimates. Display settings, lighting and thread dye lots can change their appearance. Check a physical thread card or actual thread for color decisions. Data sources and reuse.

How to find and copy a DMC thread

  1. Enter a number such as 310, or part of a color name such as dark blue. An exact number shows that thread on its own.
  2. Read the original number and full name. Sort and use Next / Previous to browse results.
  3. Choose Copy to copy both number and name. If clipboard access is blocked, select the visible row text and copy manually.

A thread number is not a chart symbol. Use the symbol reference or read a pattern lesson to match a mark to its own key.

What the screen colors mean

The swatches are RGB estimates, not physical measurements or guaranteed matches. This is Crosy's 489-entry compilation for DMC Six-Strand Embroidery Floss (Mouliné Spécial, art. 117), not every product range or live inventory.

Names follow the compilation and may differ from packaging or regional names. This lookup does not convert brands, estimate thread quantities or change a project. For project color settings, see Size, fabric and colors.

DMC color chart questions

What DMC number is black?

This catalog lists DMC 310 as Black. Search 310 and copy its number and name together; a chart symbol can represent a different thread in another pattern, so use that pattern's own key.

Are DMC Blanc and B5200 the same entry?

No. Crosy's catalog lists Blanc as White and B5200 as Snow White. Search either exact code to keep them distinct; do not choose a physical substitute from screen appearance alone.

Why does a color name differ from my pattern or packaging?

This lookup uses the names in its credited compilation. Regional or publisher labels may differ. Check the original DMC number and product range with the manufacturer.

Does this list include every DMC thread?

No. It contains Crosy's 489-entry six-strand embroidery-floss compilation, not every range or live inventory. A missing number does not prove discontinuation; consult the official product.

Can I match thread exactly from a screen swatch?

No. RGB swatches are estimates and displays, lighting and dye lots affect appearance. Check a physical thread card or actual thread before a color-critical decision.

Can this tool convert DMC numbers to Anchor?

No. It searches and copies existing DMC identities; it does not certify brand equivalents, calculate thread quantities or change a project's palette. See Size, fabric and colors in the editor help.

Manufacturer information

See the official DMC six-strand embroidery floss reference for product information. This link does not make the compiled names or screen RGB values official measurements.

DMC owns its product names and thread codes. Crosy is an independent tool.

The compilation records floss.maxxmint.com (R/G/B columns); adrianj/CrossStitchCreator (the set behind the sharlagelfand/dmc R package); xstitchify.com (arbiter). It preserves Blanc/B5200 separately and records RGB/hex corrections, including DMC 309.
